Coin - A smart payment device for your cards App Reviews

Nice try but no banana

Kudos to coin for being a front runner, but the simple truth is that it cannot be used as a replacement to all your cards because there are too many situations where you need the original card, therefore defeating the point of only having to carry 1 card. I hope the second version of this card with the smart chip fixes this.

If there was a minus I would use it.

This was delivered so long after purchase. THEN it doesnt work I cant sync the card. Talked to support when I got it. No help. Now its a piece of Crap in a drawer. Not happy with these folks!

Support

1. I have had my coin over a year now. It works at maybe half the places I go because so many places require name information to be on the card. Coin chose NOT to put that info on the card. Im assuming for security reasons but because so many places still require it, I I cant use it probably half the time. Coin should make that an ADJUSTABLE option for the user to have their name info on or off (track 1). I have to carry all of my cards still because of this. 2. For about 6 months This app has told me that I would be getting my Coin 2.0 by the end of the first quarter of 2016. I do not have it. And as of this last update, that info is gone. WHERE IS MY COIN 2.0?????? 3. They added a section called, and Im not joking, "contact support" in the app settings. But when you click on that all you get is a FAQ and NO way to actually CONTACT the support department. 4. You people at Coin have been the shadiest MFers when it comes to dealing with your customer base that I have EVER seen. Im sure you believe in your product but why not in your clientele??? 5. I gave the app 2 stars because the product CAN be awesome but Coin needs to hire someone (in a high enough position) to reach and MAKE them take care of their customer base. 6. I wish PLASTC would hurry up and come out, I think Im ready to change to someone else who is doing the same thing as COIN but hopefully with better support!

Love it!!

Had for months. Works great except Walmart.

Getting better

The more and more places it is starting to get accepted, the better its getting. Still needs to be able to be used in ATMs for cash withdrawal when the original card has a chip in it

So far, so good...

Ive had my coin for a whole year now and love the versatility. From the ATM to the corner store, Ive used it everywhere. Cashiers everywhere are amazed at this piece of technology. There have been a handful of places with older pos systems that havent accepted it, but again, very few. I looking forward to the next coin that has the capability of storing more than 8 cards.

Good concept. Looks like theyve called it quits!

With the advent of chip technology Coin has limited use. Great concept but they should have been updating all along. Now they are sold out and I dont see any date for new ones. Oh well, such is life...

V 2.0 rocks

Using it exclusively and its worked everywhere flawlessly.

Good Idea

I love the idea behind coin. Unfortunately there are some drop backs, one of them being the wide spread of chip based cards. Coin is falling behind in this department. I still get weird looks when I use it in public which I think is funny, unless the card doesnt work which is a little embarrassing. I wish the app gave us the ability to reorganize the order of the cards, other than that, it works as it is supposed to.

Crap card and support

I preordered my coin forever before I actually ever got it and not only could I not pair my cards forever but the coin itself is like a cheap piece of crap. Do everyone a favor and close this business!

Love it!

Easy to use! I love that Im able to add and remove card by simple syncing with my coin card. Thanks coin team!!!!

Works reasonably well

Had some startup issues (the card reader is unbelievably finicky) but once set up works pretty well. Still have a few places where it wont swipe, but those are exceptions. One thing I dont get is why is the card itself is limited to only holding 8 cards at a time? Chip support is going to be a problem but Ill use the Coin until the battery dies or until no one accepts magstriped cards.

Works great!

Some older credit card systems pose problems but otherwise it is so convenient to have one card in your wallet for credit cards, loyalty cards, and membership cards.

Awesome

Awesome

Nice

I love how beautiful the card is. I just wish you guys would replace it when the battery runs out for a minimal cost instead of charging me for another one.

App never failed for me. Cant say the same for the device.

The app always worked for me. Unfortunately, Coin sold out to FitBit and there will not be a Coun 3.0. The problem with the device is that 1) charges fail in places that require my name data 2) more places are using the EMV Chip which this does not support. As of this review, I am no longer carrying my Coin.

Easily on my list of top 10 greatest disappointments.

When I first discovered Coin, I thought at the time that it was unfortunate I backed the project on Kickstarter later than most. It was such an exceptional idea. When it finally released, after countless delays, I couldnt help but be amazed at how horrible it was. It worked maybe once or twice, tops, since I had it. It refuses to sync. Ever. Such a waste.

Its great. Period.

App is no good without the card, card is epic. Get one if you can. Be epic too.

Actually better than I expected

Funded this in the beginning , but by the time it got to me , Id already started using Apple Pay.. I can use my coin in many more places than Apple Pay

Not bad

Decent....wish it had a chip though.
